چکیده

At 3:08 on 6 September 2018 (UTC +9), massive landslides were triggered by an earthquake of Mw 6.6 that occurred in Hokkaido, Japan. In this paper, a coseismic landslide inventory covers 388 km2 the earthquake-impacted area and includes 5828 with total 23.66 was compiled using visual interpretations various high-resolution satellite images. To analyze spatial distribution characteristics landslides, five factors considered: peak ground acceleration (PGA), elevation, slope gradient, aspect, lithology. Results show more than 87% at 100 to 200 m elevations. Slopes range 10~20°are most susceptible failure. The density places (PGA) greater 0.16 g is obviously larger those PGA less 0.02 g. Compared number scale caused other strong earthquakes mobility Haiyan Wenchuan earthquakes, it found extremely dense Hokkaido weaker Haiyuan earthquake, described following relationship: L = 18.454 ∗ H0.612. Comparative analysis similar magnitude has important guiding significance for disaster prevention reduction reconstruction planning affected areas.

Coseismic ionospheric disturbances triggered by the Chi‐Chi earthquake

[1] At 17:47 UT on 20 September 1999, a large earthquake of magnitude Mw 7.6 struck the central Taiwan near a small town of Chi‐Chi. The ground‐based receivers of the global positioning system (GPS) in the Taiwan area detected coseismic ionospheric disturbances (CIDs) in the total electron content (TEC) triggered by the Chi‐Chi earthquake. When the CIDs travel away from the origin on the Earth ...

Optimized volume models of earthquake-triggered landslides

In this study, we proposed three optimized models for calculating the total volume of landslides triggered by the 2008 Wenchuan, China Mw 7.9 earthquake. First, we calculated the volume of each deposit of 1,415 landslides triggered by the quake based on pre- and post-quake DEMs in 20 m resolution. The samples were used to fit the conventional landslide "volume-area" power law relationship and t...

Landslides triggered by an earthquake and heavy rainfalls at Aso volcano, Japan, detected by UAS and SfM-MVS photogrammetry

Unmanned aerial systems (UASs) and structure-from-motion multi-view stereo (SfM-MVS) photogrammetry have attracted a tremendous amount of interest for use in the creation of high-definition topographic data for geoscientific studies. By using these techniques, this study examined the topographic characteristics of coseismic landslides triggered by the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake (Mw 7.1) in the Se...

Landslides triggered by the Gorkha earthquake in the Langtang valley, volumes and initiation processes

The Gorkha earthquake (Nepal, 2015, Mw 7.9) triggered many landslides. The most catastrophic mass movement was a debris avalanche that buried several villages in the Langtang valley. In this study, questions are raised about its volume and initiation. I investigate the possibility of high-resolution digital surface models computed from tri-stereo SPOT6/7 images to resolve this issue. This high-...
